Khusraw spies Shirin Bathing

"One of the classical islamic stories that are referred to quite often in My Name is Red is the romance of Khusraw and Shirin. Although Shirin, the Armenian princess falls in love with Khusraw, the Persian Prince, when she first sees his picture, they first meet at this scene exquisitely painted by 16th century miniaturists. Shirin is swimming in a small pond and Khusraw is spying her in moonlight." --Orhan Pamuk
